Under Pallet Carriers that travel independently in the pallet channel form the basis of our shuttle compact warehouse system — a complete solution consisting of the channel racking, carrier truck and carrier. The advantages are clear: The shuttle moves independently of the carrier truck under the stored pallets in the channel. This type of rack operation requires fewer aisles and allows for the compact storage of more pallets across the same warehouse space. Stacking and retrieval can also be carried out according to the LiFo or FiFo principle. For maximum flexibility, different variants of the shuttle system allow the handling of various load carriers, such as Euro pallets or industrial pallets in the same racking system. Sensors automatically detect the size and position of the pallets and prevent collisions with other pallets. In order to offer the greatest possible protection to man and machine in automated warehouse operation, our UPC shuttles are optionally equipped with the PPS personal protection system.

Efficient for two and three-shift operation

Separate battery charger for the carrier for easy charging at any 230-V mains socket.
Depending on the intensity of use, the carrier can be used for eight to ten hours with a fully charged battery pack.
An additional second battery pack—in conjunction with the optional battery charging station—considerably increases the operating period in two/three-shift operations.
Battery tray allows the battery to be exchanged in seconds.
High throughput and time savings, especially during complete filling or emptying of the pallet channels.

User-friendly hand-held radio terminal

Operating terminal and controller communicate via a bi-directional radio link run on the registration-free ISM band (433 MHz).
Ergonomic, mounted in the operator's field of vision.

Numerous diagnostic functions for the Jungheinrich Service department.
Also suitable for mobile use.
Alternative if a WMS already exists: virtual operation on the touchscreen of a data radio terminal, realistic display and functionality and thus increased operator ergonomics.
With larger racking systems, up to 69 different carriers can be selected using a hand-held radio terminal. The operator only needs to change the identification on the hand-held terminal to contact the next carrier.

UPC with personal safety system PSS (optional)

Prevents unauthorised access to a pallet channel or aisle.
If an alarm sounds then the UPC carriers can be brought to a standstill by the PPS.
Authorised trucks, which are identified automatically, are not prevented from accessing the rack operating equipment.
Extensive protection when moving UPC carriers, pallets and loads is one of the measures recommended by the BGHW (German employer's liability insurance association for trade and goods distribution) to reduce hazards.

Spare parts availability of 98 %, including overnight delivery.

Special functionalities

Stacking and retrieval based on LiFo (Last in, first out) and FiFo (First in, first out) is made easy.
When completely emptying a channel, e.g. for a delivery order, the UPC automatically transfers each pallet from the channel to the retrieval area where it is collected with a forklift truck and taken to goods outward.
This function is also possible if a specific number of pallets are to be retrieved.
Compression: If no stacking or retrieval operations are required, (e.g. at the end of the shift), all pallets can be automatically moved to the retrieval area.
